Role of Academic Procrastination On Metacognition And Obsessive Beliefs Of Senior Secondary School Students In Special Reference To Central Kashmir

Abstract

newline This study studies the role of academic procrastination on metacognition and obsessive beliefs of newlinesenior secondary school students; in special reference with central Kashmir. The study involved newline383 respondents who are adolescents studying in different senior secondary schools of central newlineKashmir. Primary data was collected using a structured questionnaires designed to assess or newlineevaluate academic procrastination, obsessive beliefs and metacognition of senior secondary newlineschool students of central Kashmir. newlineThe methodology employed a quantitative approach, utilizing statistical tools to analyze the newlinecollected data. Descriptive statistics were employed to determine the role of academic newlineprocrastination on metacognition and obsessive beliefs of senior secondary school students; in newlinespecial reference with central Kashmir. Furthermore, inferential statistics such as correlation, ttest, newlinepost hoc analyses were used to explore the relationship of academic procrastination with newlinemetacognition and obsessive beliefs. newlinePreliminary findings indicate that academic procrastination plays a significant role on newlinemetacognition and obsessive beliefs of senior secondary school students. The results suggest a newlinesignificant positive correlation between academic procrastination and obsessive beliefs. The newlineresults also suggest a significant negative correlation between academic procrastination and newlinemetacognition. Furthermore the research suggests that male and female students significantly newlinediffer in academic procrastination. This study aims to provide insights into the factors that are newlineaffecting the academic procrastination of senior secondary school students and to propose newlinerecommendations for providing assistance and counselling to lower the rate of academic newlineprocrastination among senior secondary school students.
