Anthropometric measurement were recorded, blood pressure were taken after a 10 minute rest and documented , Blood were drawn using vacutainer with red and grey top and the following investigations were done the same day. Fasting plasma glucose in DADE XPAND (Siemens),Serum vitamin D in Maglumi and Serum insulin in access2 Beckman coulter day.
newlineResults: results were analysed using SPSS software version 21. Independent t test were calculated and significance was found in vitamin D and FPG, INSULIN, HOMO IR MODEL, QUICKI INDEX. Anova was done by splitting of groups into four based on vitamin D levels and significance was got between groups for insulin, HOMO IR and QUICKI. Conclusion: this study concludes that there is significant association between vitamin D levels and serum insulin levels. Reproduction of this in a larger population will help the clinician to diagnose and treat diabetes in a better way.
