Characterization of drug resistant HIV1 mutants of Agra region India by genomic and proteomic approaches

Abstract

A cohort study was focused on the first line ART patients who were recruited at the ART newlinecentre, Sarojini Naidu Medical College, Agra, India from December 2009 to November 2016. newlineA total of 211 patients were selected based on CD4 counts and first line ART in 1-2 Years, gt3- newline4 years, gt5-6 years and had a viral load and#8805;1000 RNA copies/ml were included in this period for newlinegenotypic assay. The genotypic assay was performed following WHO dried blood spot protocol newline2010 and the drug resistance mutations were analysed by Stanford HIV drug resistance data newlinebase, USA. The NRTI and NNRTI drug resistance mutations were observed in the reverse newlinetranscriptase gene. No protease gene associated mutations was observed among the HIV-1 newlineSubtype C infected first line antiretroviral therapy failure patients. newline
