dc.description.abstractIn this thesis, the search for SUSY particles (chargino and neutralino) produced through Vector Boson Fusion (VBF) processes has been studied. The Standard Model (SM) is the most successful theory to date, however, it still possesses few limitations and to answer the shortcomings, new physics beyond the Standard Model (BSM) has been developed. There are several theories and one of them is Supersymmetry (SUSY). Among several models of SUSY theories, Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) has been used in this thesis work. The search is carried out using proton-proton collision data collected with the CMS detector at 13 TeV center-of-mass-energy in the year 2016 at the CERN, LHC. We have not observed any excess of events over the SM backgrounds predictions, but upper limits are obtained on the masses of chargino and neutralino. For compressed mass scenarios where the mass difference between chargino and Lightest Supersymmetric Particle (LSP) is 1 GeV, an upper limit of 112 GeV and when the mass difference is 30 GeV, an upper limit of 215 GeV is obtained on the masses of charging and neutralino. The present study obtains the most stringent limit to date in newlinecompressed mass spectra scenarios. newline newline
