Abstract
The increasing consumption of energy and pollution are the major
newlineproblems of this decade. Around 76% of energy consumed worldwide is
newlineproduced from petroleum fuels. The combustion of petroleum fuel is the
newlineprincipal cause of many environmental problems such as global warming,
newlineacid rain, photochemical smog, etc. Most countries are implementing
newlineemission regulations in the industrial sectors and automobiles to reduce the
newlinepollution from petroleum fuels. Some of them encourage using alternative
newlinerenewable fuels such as biofuel and biodiesel in automobiles and power
newlineindustries to reduce pollution and usage of fossil fuels.
newlineResearchers worldwide revealed that biodiesel is a better solution
newlinefor the partial replacement of diesel/petrol in the engines. Further, many
newlinecountries around the world have framed legislation for the compulsory use of
newlinebiodiesel blends in CI engines to reduce fossil fuel consumption, net
newlinecarbon-di-oxide emission and other emissions from transportation
