Performance analysis of four switch three phase pwm inverter based induction motor with power factor correction converters

Abstract

The poor quality of current and voltage of a conventional inverter newlinefed induction machine is due to the presence of harmonics The harmonics newlinecontent can be reduced by using minimum number of switches in three phase newlineinverter The proposed work employ four switches in the three phase inverter newlineinstead of six switch conventional inverter The Four Switch Three Phase newlineInverter FSTPI also reduces both the cost of the inverter and the newlinecomputation for real time implementation This thesis mainly focuses on newlineperformance analysis of FSTPI fed induction motor in terms of inverter newlineoutput voltage input power factor THD and efficiency The proposed newlinetechnique has been compared with a conventional six switch three phase newlineinverter SSTPI fed drive in terms of output voltage and total harmonic newlinedistortion THD of the stator current This research work also focuses on newlineperformance analysis of FSTPI fed induction motor with various converters newlineThe entire research work reported in this thesis is based on the simulation newlinestudies of the FSTPI fed induction motor to overcome the existing drawbacks newline newline
