newlineThe main objective of this work is to characterize the Epolam 2022 epoxy mixed with
newlinenanoclay and then give a detailed comparison of the changes in the properties of the modified
newlineepoxy. Both the neat epoxy and the nano clay mixed epoxy are tested for their behaviour
newlineunder mechanical, tribological and environmental conditions. The tests reveal that mixing the
newlinenanoclay improves the properties of the epoxy under consideration significantly.
newlineAnother objective of this research work is to find an improved and low cost adhesive which
newlinehas a wide range of applications. Araldite Epoxy AW106 and Loctite Superior 40025 are
newlinecompared where the Araldite epoxy was mixed with pottery clay to improve its properties.
newlineComparison was done on the basis of shear strength and vibrational characteristics. It was
newlinefound that mixing pottery clay with the Araldite epoxy showed an overall improvement in its
newlineproperties when compared to the Loctite Superior
