dc.description.abstractThis thesis presents a two-phase approach to address the solid transportation problem with uncertain newlinevariables through goal programming technique with linear and non-linear membership functions. The newlinefirst phase of this approach involves the development of a mathematical model based on the goal newlineprogramming technique with linear and non-linear membership functions. This model is then applied newlineto cases of logistics and reverse logistics problems. The results of these applications compare the newlineeffectiveness of the proposed solution to traditional methods and highlight the potential applications newlineof this model in areas such as transportation and logistics. newlineTo further validate the proposed approach, it is again compared with alternative methods to determine newlineits superiority in various problem-solving. The comparison provides insight into the advantages offered newlineby the proposed model and the challenges faced in its implementation. This comparison is helpful for newlinefurther improvement of the model and for its potential applications in other fields. newlineFinally, this thesis concludes by suggesting further research directions that involve the proposed newlinetechnique and its scalability. This research directions include the development of new techniques and newlinemethods that would extend the applicability of the proposed model, as well as its scalability. It would newlinefurther help improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed solution in tackling the solid newline
