In the last few years, it has been observed that the transformation in personal and social lives are mostly led by the advancement in wireless communication. The purpose is to accelerate the progress towards achieving each of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG s). So Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies are the revolutionary breakthrough to drive the digital transformation from the communication technology point of view. The key requirements of the current communication standards to support IoT devices are multiband functionality, wideband, optimum link capacity and high data rate. Hence, antennas must be designed to meet the requirements of current communication technologies linked to IoT and WSN based communication. newlineTo get optimum link quality we may incorporate Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) antennas at both transmitter and receiver side. With the increase of number of antenna elements, the data rate also increases linearly. Though multiple input multiple output (MIMO) antennas are having capability to support optimum link quality but suffers from poor inter port isolation. The poor isolation between the ports affects the channel capacity and radiation pattern of the antenna. One way to reduce the mutual coupling is to increase the inter antenna spacing between the antenna elements but it will not be a suggestive approach because the antenna dimension will be increased which is the major constraint in WLAN, WiFi and WiMax systems. So suitable isolation enhancement scheme must be required to reduce the mutual coupling produced between antenna elements so that channel capacity and radiation efficiency will be achieved to meet the optimum requirement of a MIMO antenna from specific application point of view. Most of the MIMO antenna available are either microstrip based or dielectric resonator based. Dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) finds suitability over microstrip based antenna and slot- based antenna due to having promising features like high radiation efficie
