Abstract

The thesis titled Affective Visuality: A Study of Pathos in the Works of Select Indian Photojournalists is a pioneer study in the field of Indian Photojournalism. It studies the photographic works of four Indian photojournalists namely Raghu Rai, Pablo Bartholomew, Arko Datta and Altaf Qadri. The selected photographs have been studied in detail to comprehensively understand the meaning of the photographs and also how they make the viewers feel . This research emphasizes the need for critical viewership and systematic and pluralistic interpretation of photographs. newline
