Abstract

An investigation on Role of Host Volatiles on Host Selection by Tomato Pin Borer, Tuta absoluta (Meyrick) was carried out at Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh during the year 2018-2020 with the following objectives. newline1) To study the biology and preference of tomato pin borer, Tuta absoluta (Meyrick) on tomato, brinjal, potato and bell pepper. newline2) To study the role of volatiles of host plants such as tomato, brinjal, potato and bell pepper in host selection by adult females newline3) To determine the role of farm chemicals/biopesticides induced changes on volatile profile of tomato host plant newline4) Predatory potential and prey stage preference by the mirid bug, Nesidoicoris tenuis on tomato pin borer, T. absoluta newline
