Automobile components fail in high-temperature situations because of the atmosphere contact with the material, resulting in wear as well as successive enhanced degradation. The present research work explores the possibility of using D gun Nickel chromium carbide coating on the Inconel 600, 625 and 718 materials used in high temperature applications such as automobile parts, boilers and turbines. The coatings are investigated for their hardness, strength, and wear resistance under laboratory conditions and microstructure have been characterized to evaluate their potential as high temperature hardness, tensile strength and wear resistant coatings for high temperature applications. newlineThe application of coatings to modify the surface properties of the automobile component using thermal spraying is efficient and affordable. Coatings are used in a variety of applications, such as automotive systems, boiler components, power generation equipment, chemical process equipment, aircraft engines, equipment used in the paper industry, bridges, rollers used in concrete reinforcement, orthopedic and dental equipment, land-based and marine turbines, and ships. The best options for getting the requisite hard, dense, and wear-resistant coatings among the commercially available thermal spray coating processes is Detonation gun. newlineThe need for advanced coatings in industry is rising for a variety of applications (automotive, aerospace, specialized machinery, etc.). Surfaces are often coated for decorative, protective, or utilitarian purposes; however these purposes are frequently mixed. Functional coatings are described as systems having added utility in addition to the typical coating properties of protection and strength. Depending on how a coated substrate is employed, this additional functionality may come in a variety of shapes. Functional coatings can be applied using a variety of methods. Chemical vapor deposition is one of the most widely used methods for depositing thin films and functional coatings on a range of substrates. newline
