Abstract
Experimental studies on heat transfer friction factor and thermal performance of thermosyphon solar leaf collector with Al2O3 nanofluid in various volume concentrations nanofluid with helical twist twist with rod and spacer under laminar flow conditions has been studied Volume concentrations such as 0.1% 0.3%. 0.5% 0.7% and 1% have been used for this experimentation. Deionized water has been used as a base fluid for preparation of nanofluid The experimental data obtained from water tube collector are compared with the fundamental equations in which deviation falls within ± 11.3% and ± 15.17% for Nusselt number and friction factor respectively The maximum thermal efficiency observed for Al2O3/water nanofluid collectors have been found as 70.01%, 71.93%, 71.83%, 73.85%, 77.18% and 79.48% for volume concentrations of 0.1%, 0.3%, 0.5%, 0.7% and 1% respectively Similarly the systems with nanofluid and helical twisted tape of twist ratio 6 enhance the thermal efficiency to 80.58% 83.16% and 86.10% for volume concentrations of 0.1%, 0.3%, and 0.5% respectively Further the experimentation has been carried out for twist with rod and spacer of 250mm and 500mm with volume concentration of 0.3% When consider thermal performance of rod and spacer, rod liberates little amount of heat transfer than spacer When considering friction twist with spacer performs with significant output than rod The heat augmentation and friction factor of water tube collector is comparatively lower than that of others
