newline This study focuses on performance management of faculty members of technical institutions working in Tamil Nadu State Performance management is a tool that monitors and maintains the proper flow of input and output in every part of organisation Technical institutions are delivering techno savvy and reality based education to the students Knowledge update is required on daily basis to ensure practical based education It is the prime duty of Management to administer performance review on a fixed interval among the faculty members Effective implementation of performance management in educational institutions will enhance overall performance in terms of student s examination results quality of teaching perfection in work healthy culture and behaviour effective interpersonal relationship work efficiency and so on The study was conducted in the state of Tamil Nadu India Approximately the population of the study consists of 48000 respondents working with 448 private Engineering institutions in Tamil Nadu The study was conducted with a sample of 985 faculty members working in various technical institutions in Tamil Nadu This study is an empirical research based on survey method of data collection Structured questionnaire was prepared for finding out the prevailing level of performance management system in technical education institutions based on faculty member s perspective newline newline
