More significant public and private sector activities with cutting-edge and efficient technology are required to address the issues with energy security and preserve the environment for future generations. Finding a suitable renewable fuel source is important for any country since it should replace the finite fossil fuel supply in the transportation sector. The scientific community is optimistic that a breakthrough will be made in this field. Biofuel, particularly biodiesel, is one such very competitive and promising alternative. By transesterifying triglycerides with alcohol in the presence of a catalyst, long chain fatty acid mono-alkyl esters known as biodiesel are created from renewable lipid sources. Because they have a closed carbon cycle, non-edible plants are becoming more popular as a source of alternative fuel, which is a good development. Realizing their potential requires identifying potential species and creating favorable conditions for their adoption in order to accelerate their growth and lipid yield. However, research on oil extraction, biodiesel conversion, and performance with emission monitoring on internal combustion engines is fairly scanty, although being crucial for commercialization. newlineThe success of the downstream process depends heavily on the choice of specific non-edible plants. Geographical location, growth rate, oil content, fatty acid profile, and other relevant features are considered while choosing a strong, dependable, and locally accessible plant. In this research, non-edible plants with high oil content were used as a viable alternative source for this experimental investigation. Examples include the many readily available cotton seed plants, rubber seed plants, and pungai seed plants newline
