Abstract
In Grid- Connected Photovoltaic (GCPV) system, the power electronics interface plays a significant role for efficient transfer of power from solar PV to utility grid. In grid-tied photovoltaic system, solar PV system is tied to grid through boost converter and inverter.
newlineIt has been observed that voltage in dc-link on the inverter side overshoots when grid faults occur in grid-tied PV systems. During grid faults, the current in grid side increases, the voltage dips at the point of common coupling and voltage in dc link side increases. To safeguard power converters from high currents on the grid side, solar PV is disconnected from grid. In this proposed work, the system is operated in Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) mode in steady state and in grid faults, inverter switches to Fault Ride Through (FRT) mode of operation
