Abstract

Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) need to construct energyefficient newlinenode clusters as unattended nodes might have more quantity of newlineenergy. Cluster Based Routing Protocol (CBRP) is introduced for MANET to newlinereduce energy consumption of nodes. Weight Based Clustering Algorithm newline(WCA) is best solution which considers the mean degree and battery energy newlineof mobile nodes into consideration in MANET. In WCA, link breakage newlineoccurs and it has been handled by using Swarm Intelligence (SI) for MANET newlinerouting. newlineEnergy Efficient Weight Based Clustering Algorithm (EEWCA) newlinemethod is proposed which utilizes node parameters including link stability newlinedegree, link neighbourhood data, energy consumption and distances between newlinelinked nodes, node density, node stability, and node residual energy to newlinecompute node weights. EEWCA goal is to create clusters, select Cluster newlineHeads (CHs), and keep CHs alive by adding new cluster nodes. Adaptive newlineParticle Swarm Optimization (APSO) routing with Ad Hoc on Demand newlineDistance Vector (AODV) is introduced for routing in MANET. APSO newlinerouting is introduced to avoid the path break before it happens with the help newlineof an AODV algorithm to select the other path to the destination. Simulation newlineresults show that the proposed algorithm reduces energy consumption and newlineincreases network lifetime. APSO-AODV algorithm, CH plays a crucial role newlinein increasing the energy efficiency and network lifetime while retaining the newlineefficiency of clustering methods. newline
