Abstract
1.1 Background of the Study
newlinePervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD) is one of the fastest growing developmental
newlinedisabilities affecting one in every 68 children. Scientific research has proven that early
newlinebehavioral intervention can improve learning, communication, and social skills. Studies have
newlineshown that the usage of off-the-shelf technology boosts motivation in children diagnosed
newlinewith PDD while increasing their attention span and ability to interact socially. Embracing
newlineperspectives from different fields of study can lead to the development of an effective tool to
newlinecomplement traditional treatment of those with PDD.
