Influence of Religious Affiliation on Individuals Investment Behavior An Empirical Study in National Capital Region

Abstract

In this chapter, researcher explained investment concepts; its types, investment behavior of individual and its determinants, behavioral finance, theories of investment behavior, investment avenues available in India, religious beliefs and practice in India, prominent religions in India, Islamic laws, zakat , Islamic banking, laws for equity and debt financing, insurance, risk taking and finally the rationale of the study so derived from above discussion. It is concluded that religion affects the individual behavior, ethical behavior, social behavior, saving behavior, economic behavior and risk aversion among individual. It is found to be a little researched area. Muslim culture specifies a code of conduct. Islam is a complete way of life. The chapter ends at summary of thesis. newline
