Synthesis, Characterization and Biological activity of NSAID derived Esters, Imides and Pyrazolines

Abstract

The thesis entitled Synthesis, Characterization and Biological Activity newlineof NSAIDs Derived Esters, Imides and Pyrazolines comprises of five chapters. newlineCHAPTER-1 A brief review on pharmacological activities of non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and their derivatives This chapter deals with general survey of the relevant literature related to the present topic which describes the development of pharmacologically important derivatives of non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs(NSAIDs) as new scaffold by minimizing the toxic effects of existing agents. Several strategies have been reported on the modification of the well known NSAIDs for the design and development of new scaffold, such as novel cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitors, nitric oxide donors, prodrugs, newlineantioxidants, antibacterial and cytotoxic agents. Therefore, it may be feasible to newlinedevelop safer and more efficacious drugs by modifying NSAIDs.
