The aim of the present work was to develop oxidized alginate and gelatin liposomal hydrogels of mupirocin and sodium fusidate for wound healing properties. The prepared liposomes were evaluated for percentage yield, particle size, polydispersity index, encapsulation efficiency, drug content, In vitro drug release, microscopy and SEM. The optical microscopy and SEM photographs showed that the mupirocin liposomes were spherical in shape with smooth surface. The optimized mupirocin liposomal hydrogel showed a diffusion-controlled release. In vivo studies showed there was an enhanced percentage reduction in wound area treated with mupirocin and sodium fusidate loaded liposomal hydrogels. newlineHistopathology of the wound treated with sodium fusidate liposomal hydrogels showed skin and subcutaneous tissue with continuous and well-formed epithelium and dermal region. The optimized formulation did not undergo any significant change during the stability study confirming the stability of the formulations. The obtained results showed that, liposomal hydrogels of mupirocin and sodium fusidate would be potential wound dressing with enhanced wound healing properties
