Abstract

The thesis aims to know the effectiveness of training programmes offered to employees in small and medium enterprises in Chennai. Successful employees of Training were influenced by various factors of training, which have been analysed in a detailed manner in this research. Demographic variables is analysed in a detailed order with respect to the different age group, educational qualifications, experience, designation, type of the organisation, annual turnover of the organisation etc. In this research study, employees opinion survey played key a role which reflected 9 factors such as perception, needs, awareness, utilisation, attitude, talent acquired, satisfaction, implement of training and successful of training which played a significant role to find the effectiveness of training. A Structural Equation Model (SEM) has been developed for this research study. The factors of SEM influenced to know the effectiveness of training. A total of 510 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises were randomly selected from Chennai city. A questionnaire was constructed and distributed to the employees/workers of selected Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. The responses were collected and analysed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) and AMOS software used to analyse the conclusion of research report. Based on comprehensive synthesis of research reported in different chapters, contribution and limitations of research pursued, have been highlighted and scope for further research in related areas have been also discussed.
