Design and Development of Asymmetric Key Management Protocol for Heterogeneous Wireless Sensor Networks

Abstract

The only network able to connect to the real world is wireless sensor network. The wireless sensor network consists of hundreds of tiny sensor devices deployed randomly in hostile environment. These tiny sensors sense the physical parameters of the environment such as humidity, pressure, temperature etc. Due to the unique network characteristics, the wireless sensor networks are applicable to the real environment like forests, sea bed, coast line, medical, military and also to other varied applications like industry, vehicle tracking, structures and smart homes. The sensor nodes are deployed in hostile environment that is beyond the reach of human intervention this makes security an essential and critical requirement for the success of any wireless sensor network application
