Development of an efficient algorithm for the detection of breast cancer using image processing techniques

Abstract

As per the latest cancer statistics, the global mortality rate of cancer may increase to 11 million by 2030[1]. On an average more than 1,50,000 women die of cancer every year[2].Since Breast cancer is a progressive disease which is known to evolve through stages of cellular dedifferentiation and growth, the time at which breast cancer is detected is crucial .
