Abstract

Rheumatoid arthritis is one of the most common chronic inflammatory conditions affecting newlinepeople worldwide. About approximately 1% of the world wide adult population is affected by rheumatoid arthritis with about twice as many female suffers as male. The prevalence of rheumatoid arthritis increases with age in both sexes with nearly 5% of women and 2% of men over 55 years of age affected. newlineThere is a need to continue the development of novel drugs for rheumatoid arthritis that are curative in nature. This has necessitated the development of novel agents for treating rheumatoid arthritis. Thus, some of the established rheumatoid arthritis treatments could be linked to bioreductive agents and released in hypoxic tissues where inflammation is occurring. This review summarizes the important developments in therapy of rheumatoid arthritis. There is no doubt that despite these developments we need to develop new and advanced treatment modalities for rheumatoid arthritis. newlineThe World Health Organization estimates that a staggering two billion people harbor parasitic worm infections. Parasitic worms also infect livestock and crops, affecting food production with a resultant economic impact. Despite this prevalence of parasitic infections, the research on anthelmintic drugs is poor. As per WHO, only few drugs are frequently used in the treatment of helminthes in human beings. Anthelmintics from the natural souse may play a key role in the treatment of these parasitic infections newline. newlineThe WHO has estimated that approximately 80% of the world s population depends on traditional medicines for meeting their primary health care needs. Parasites have been of concern to the medical field for centuries and the Helminthes still cause considerable problems for human being and animals. During the past few decades, despite numerous advances made in understanding the mode of transmission and the treatment of these parasites, there are still no efficient products to control certain helminthes. newline
