Abstract
ABSTRACT
newlineThe thesis titled quotAn Analysis of Growing Trends of Cashless Transactions in Sagar District of Madhya Pradesh: A Comparative Study between Generation X and Yquot investigates the adoption and utilization patterns of cashless transactions in Sagar District, comparing two distinct generational cohorts. As India moves towards a cashless economy, understanding the varying levels of adoption, satisfaction, and challenges faced by different age groups becomes increasingly significant.
newlineGeneration X, born between 1967 and 1983, has witnessed substantial technological advancements but remains somewhat conservative in adopting new payment methods. In contrast, Generation Y, born between 1983 and 1998, has grown up in a digital world, embracing cashless transactions more readily. This research uses stratified sampling to survey 450 individuals from both generations, analyzing their awareness, usage, and perceptions of cashless transactions.
newlineThe study also examines the performance of cashless transactions in India, particularly in Sagar District, and evaluates the growth, challenges, and future potential of these payment methods. The findings provide insights for policymakers, technology developers, banks, and other stakeholders to enhance digital payment systems and address the specific needs and concerns of different generational groups.
newlineBy filling the research gap on generational differences in the adoption of cashless transactions, this thesis contributes valuable knowledge to the discourse on digital finance, aiding in the transition towards a more inclusive and efficient cashless economy.
