Abstract

Power transformers are vital components in a power system network. newlineThe liquid dielectric insulates power transformers as they have excellent newlinedielectric strength and coolant properties. They provide inter coil insulation in newlinethe power transformer and remove heat from the conductors to the newlineenvironment. There is a need to change over from existing petroleum-based newlinetransformer oil to green mixed insulating fluid. Since the petroleum-based newlineinsulating fluid is not environment friendly due to its biodegradable issue. newlineMalfunction and breakdown of power transformer are responsible for newlineaccelerated thermal aging of liquid dielectric and oil-impregnated insulating newlinekraft paper. Accelerated aging leads to unexpected failure of the power newlinetransformer. Liquid dielectric and oil-impregnated insulating kraft paper are newlinevital in assessing the failure rate of the power transformer. There is a newlinenecessity for performance evaluation of liquid dielectric and prediction of oilimpregnated newlinekraft paper to reduce the failure rate of the power transformer. newlineTwo stages of experimental investigation are performed in this research work. newlineAs a pilot experiment, the best proportions of the Mineral oil and Pongamia newlinepinnata oil are determined. The performance of breakdown voltage, fire point newlineand viscosity are experimentally investigated. BBD is developed using three newlineinput factors to predict the breakdown voltage, fire point and viscosity. The newlineinput parameters are wt% of CNT, stirring temperature and wt% of ZrO2. newlineInput parameter levels are given to BBD design using DoE software. A set of newlineseventeen trails are generated for experimental investigation. The breakdown newlinevoltage, fire point and viscosity are measured for seventeen trials and newlinetabulated for statistical analysis. newline
