Abstract
This present study is an attempt to examine the approaches of blended learning practiced in senior secondary classes of Chandigarh and Panchkula Government Schools and explore the teachers and students perspective towards blended learning in Senior Secondary Government Schools of Chandigarh and Panchkula. The study had been conducted on a sample of 10 schools, 5 from each city. 1091 students and 68 teachers responded to Google Survey. and completed the surveys electronically using Google Forms. For this study a mixed method approach has been followed in which both focus on quantitative and qualitative data has been given. Open ended questions were added to Questionnaire for students, where they could elaborate on responses to Likert Scale Questions. A semi structured interview was conducted on 12 teachers, 6 from Chandigarh and 6 from Panchkula to get their perspectives on Blended Learning. The current status of Blended learning approaches being practiced in the Govt. schools was assessed and perception of teachers and students towards Blended Learning was analysed and problems faced by them were evaluated. Teachers and students perceive that mixed learning settings have a beneficial impact on them and are a crucial experience for their future. Schools need to be updated in order to be prepared for blended learning in general and adopting online mode of assessment as means of evaluation in particular. Blended learning knowledge and understanding will become an invaluable resource for educational institutions globally with the correct kind of support and persistence. The researcher anticipates that the findings of the study will furnish insights that will assist administrators, faculty, staff, and instructors in determining the most effective ways to facilitate blended learning inside the classroom.
