Evolutionary algorithm based performance enhancement in dg integrated optimal distribution network

Abstract

The utmost task of the today s power system engineer is to develop newlinea low cost, reliable Distribution Network (DN) with maximum efficiency. In newlinegeneral, the structure of DN is radially configured, but its operation becomes newlinecomplex due to ongoing increase in power demand with more sensitive newlineloads.Modern DNs are facing several technical problems such as power newlineloss, drop in bus voltage, reliability and power quality issues etc. Out of these newlineissues, bus voltage profile enhancement and suppression of real power loss newlineare the two major tasks for the distribution system engineers to reduce the newlinesystems overall costs. However the latest technology provides solutions newlineconfirming the reliable operation of DN. It is understood from the previous newlinework that 13% of the total generated power is wasted as heat loss considering newlineDN alone. Hence many researchers focus their work on power loss newlineminimization. Due to the cost implication involved, power utilities are under newlinethe pressure of improving the overall efficiency of power delivery. newlineAccordingly, there is an obligation to operate the DN under optimum loss newlinecondition. newline newline
