newlineBackground:
newlineHarmonics issues are created in power systems due to the non-linear characteristics and fast switching of power electronics equipments. Power quality issues are becoming stronger because sensitive equipments may be damaged. Due to active power filters have been developed over the years to solve these problems to improve power quality. The concept of Filter proposed in 1971, Sasaki and Machida, to detect current harmonics using transformer. Harmonics current is drawn in opposite phases with the compensator. Active Filters are commercially available in market with different rating and different configuration. Also several patents are published on active power filters control methods and power topologies.
newlineAim:This research work is carried out to compensate current harmonics using Neutral Point Clamped and T type three level voltage source inverter for non linear load.
newlineMaterials and Methods:
newlineNeutral Point Clamped and T type three level voltage source inverter power topologies are used for current harmonics compensation. Fast Fourier Transform algorithm has been used to predict reference current for shunt active power filter. It is found that FFT method is best among all other methods. FFT method has been discussed in the report. PI based current control and Space Vector Based Hysteresis current control methods are discussed in this thesis. DSP TMS320F28335 and TMS320F28377d are used for reference current prediction. Shunt active power filter is used for current harmonics compensation of non linear load.
newlineResults and Discussion:
newlinePSIM Simulation results and discussion included in this report for three level volt
