Abstract

newline An authentication is a process of ensuring the truth of any newlineinformation in communication. The information can be a text, audio, image, newlinevideo, any graphical presentation and multimedia. Medical images are one newlineparticular class of information need to be treated with special care. Such newlineinformation is mainly exchanged between the units for obtaining the newlinediagnosis, treating the diseases, performing remote surgery etc. During this newlinecommunication, an authentication is required to ensure the originality and newlinetruth of information that is being exchanged. The authentication is mainly newlinedone by different classes of techniques. They are password, digital signature, newline3D passwords and data hiding. The data hiding techniques are found to be the newlinebest in providing the integrity while authenticating the content because they newlineprovide the security without having any extra bandwidth and checks the newlineintegrity of the content. newline
