Abstract
Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is a multifactorial disorder, includes deposition of cholesterol and fatty acid associated with inflammation and oxidative stress. It is noticed as more common health issues in India. NAFLD is associated with metabolic syndrome associated factors like increased WC, increased BP (Diastolic and/or systolic BP), increased fasting blood glucose, increased triglyceride and decreased HDL-C which may be causative factors for CVD and T2DM. Liver enzymes and#947;-glutamyl-transferase, alkaline phosphatase, serum alanine transferase and serum
newlineaspartate transaminase are common inflammatory biomarkers for diagnosis and prognosis of liver diseases.

newlineThis study was comprised 460 MetS patients (230 with NAFLD and 230 without NAFLD) of both sexes in 20 to 60 years aged range and study was conducted in the Department of Biochemistry in association with Department of Medicine, National Institute of Medical Sciences and Research. Anthropometric measurements were taken. Samples of blood were collected from all the patients for the estimation of liver enzymes (ALT, AST, ALP and GGT), lipid profile test (TG, TC, LDLC and HDL-C) and fasting blood glucose (FBG). newline139 (60.43%) male and 91 (39.56%) female of MetS patients were having NAFLD. We found Mean ± SD of ALT was 78.95 ± 52.24 U/L, AST was 63.82 ± 43.1 U/L, ALP was 143.63 ± 77.29 U/L and GGT 37.38 ± 9.02 U/L in MetS with NAFLD patients and it was 55.4 ± 39.63 U/L, 49.1 ± 39.25 U/L, 98.65 ± 37.30 U/L and 29.51 ± 8.75 U/L respectively in ALT, AST, ALP and GGT in case of without NAFLD with significant p-value lt 0.00001 in both cases.
