Incivility in Nursing Education

Abstract

Incivility is showing disregard and insolence for others. One of the sectors of incivility is Nursing Education. Schools and colleges are facing these issues over a decade or so. Therefore, a phenomenological approach on faculty and students perception of incivility in nursing education at a selected college of Nursing in Tamil Nadu was done. The faculty s experience as well as the student s experience was categorized under academic tasks, emotional experiences, attitude, behavior and communication issues. Using academic advising policy would surely minimize such issues which can be resolved in a timely basis. Eventually, this will help in producing a healthy teaching-learning environment and improving the relationship between the faculty and the students in an academic milieu. newline
