Abstract
newlinePresent research work explores the Search for the therapeutic potentials for Hamelia patens plant this plant belong from the Rubiaceae family. The plants are documented in ancient literature for ethno-medicinal uses. Therefore, the systemic studies were authenticated and validate the use of selected ethno medicinal plant. Selected plants were successively extracted and subjected to isolation of their bioactive compounds using column chromatography, LC-MS analysis and gas chromatography. Further, these extracts/active rich fractions and bio-actives had these processed performed for various bio-efficacy testing. It was reported that Hamelia patens possess new compounds isolated by flash chromatography in Dichloromethane extract and in ethyl acetate extract by gc ms. In research investigations efforts were made to isolate these compounds from Hamelia patens using flash column chromatography and the prominent compounds aren-Hexadecanoic acid, Octadecanoic acid, cyclonosiloxane, alpha stigmasterol, 2-6 Di tert butyl phenol, 1-Octadecanol, 1-Octadecene, 1-hexadecene, dodecane, phytol, glycerol palmitate presence and they have Antimicrobial activity, Antibacterial and antifungal activity. Isolated bioactives can be used for preparation of plant based drugs. The aim behind this study is to reveals new bioactives and its potentials as medicinal therapeutic targets.
newlineAll the selected successive extracts (Dichloromethane, benzene, chloroform, ethyl acetate and methanol) of the plant was screened for various bio- efficacies i.e. antimicrobial and antioxidant efficacies. Further, this plants species were also screened for DNA Fingerprinting with one of the related species. All the data show clearly that Hamelia patens possess huge potentials as drug and can be further screened for active metabolites and bio-potentials.
