People s Archive of Rural India is a digital journalistic platform founded in the year 2014 by P.Sainath, a veteran Magsaysay award-winning journalist. The archive serves as an newlinealternative medium that represents the subaltern voices of the nation, focusing on rural newlineIndian issues related to agricultural crises, gender, ethnicity, traditional and indigenous newlinearts and trade. The archive is being improvised and upgraded with time and contains stories grouped under 25 category headings which are thematic in nature as on December 2024. Some categories are Things We Do , Things We Make , Adivasis , Women , newline Health , Getting There , Musafir , etc. The category, Things We Do speaks about newlinechallenging and dwindling livelihoods that need patronage and recognition. The category newline Things We Make discusses stories about making artefacts and substances of ethnic newlinesignificance or articles related to traditional livelihood, arts and cultural heritage. Getting newlineThere and Musafir compile stories related to transport and migrant workers respectively. The study considers PARI as a medium for Development Communication and attempts a qualitative case study on the same. newline
