Abstract
Fiber reinforced polymer composite (FRPC) materials are extensively used in automobile,
newlineaircraft and marine industries due to their high specific strength and stiffness as well as
newlinefreedom in design. Nowadays, compared with traditional materials like steel, aluminum,
newlineetc., the application of glass fiber reinforced polymer composites in the automotive industry
newlinehas increased due to its high strength-to-weight ratio. The carbon fiber is another popular
newlinechoice as a reinforcement in polymer composites for many engineering applications due to
newlineits superior properties such as high strength and stiffness, high chemical resistance, hightemperature
newlinetolerance and low thermal expansion. In recent times, many researchers have
newlinebeen working on developing hybrid composites with two or more fiber reinforcements to
newlinecombine the benefits of individual fibers.
