Abstract
Students in school were taught under the same curricula by the same teachers
newlinethey use same resources but performance varies widely. Researchers have shown that
newlinethe achievement of students especially in relation to the sciences is greatly influenced
newlineby certain psychological or cognitive factors. Several researchers have also pointed
newlineout different reasons for students poor performance, some of which are due to the
newlineabstractness of certain aspects of Biology, lack of understanding on the students part
newlineof certain biological concepts such as ecology (Owoeye, 2016).
