Abstract
The chickpea (Cicer arietinumL.), a self-pollinated pulse crop that is botanically a
newlinemember of the Fabaceae family, is one of the most significant rabi pulse crops in
newlineIndia and makes up about 20% of all pulse production worldwide. During the rabi
newlineseasons of 2019 2020 and 2022 23, the experiment was carried out at the Institute
newlineFarm, S.R.K University, Bhopal (M.P.). The findings showed that biological
newlineyield/plant had a direct and favorable impact on grain yield/plant and that it also had
newlinean indirect impact via 100-seed weight, followed by pods/plant. The trait harvest
newlineindex significantly affected the number of pods per plant, which in turn affected grain
newlineyield per plant.
