Abstract
The study highlights the high prevalence of significant liver fibrosis among T2DM in primary healthcare settings. Conventional scores such as BARD, BAAT, and APRI had low diagnostic accuracy for significant liver fibrosis among diabetes patients. FIB-4 and NFS had an AUROC of 0.65 and were found to perform better than other non-invasive scores and can be considered a tool in screening significant fibrosis among people with diabetes. The present study reports the development and performance of a new score that could be effectively used for risk stratification and would discriminate the patients with diabetes at risk for significant liver fibrosis, making screening feasible in primary healthcare settings.
