Impact of Employees Length of Service on Role Stress A Comparative Analysis of Public and Private Sector Banks in Western Uttar Pradesh

Abstract

A study on the experience of ORS and its dimensions is required to understand the affect of length of service and demographic variables on the bank employees. newlineConvenience sampling was employed for data collection from 68 branches of Public banks contributing 304 respondents and 52 branches of Private sector banks contributing 270 respondents from Western Uttar Pradesh. Secondary data was collected through published sources. newlineData was collected using ORS Scale developed by Prof. Pareek to measure ORS. The statistical techniques were performed on the data and the results of the study then were analysed and interpreted and a conclusion was made using the data analysis. newlineIn order to achieve the objectives of this study the following research hypotheses are formulated in their null form based on the revelations in the review of literature. Length of service with banking sector and demographic variables makes no significant difference in the ORS of employees. Length of service with banking sector and demographic variables makes no significant impact on the ORS employees. newlineIt was suggested that stressed individuals can try to adopt ways for coping with stress to escape tension. Since, age with education and length of service income as the last variable make a significant difference on ORS on the bank employees so it is suggested that effort both at individual level and organizational level is required to cope with stress by training the young and new employees about their role with the role expectations and coping stress. The private sector banks are suggested to provide gender privilege to their female employees. newlineThe study will be significant for the corporate management of the banks and employees and professional courses with the researchers and scholars for further researches in ORS. newlineFurther studies may be conducted while treating ORS as independent variable and job satisfaction with organizational commitment and emotional intelligence or others as dependent variables. newline newline
