Abstract
The media is considered the fourth estate in Indian democracy. The role of media is to collect, gather and disseminate relevant information to the people timely. The development of television media is a part of the communication revolution that brought drastic changes in the socio-economic condition of India. Over the last two decades, the growth of Indian television media and news channels happened too fast. In the present scenario, many news channels are available that are serving news round the clock at regional, national and international levels to the masses.

newlineThe power of news channels is all known; it has the potential to reach millions of masses. People have benefited particularly from information and education by news television; it shapes the attitude and opinion of the audience on a large scale. In this matter, the media have the capability to establish the agenda and frame the news stories about any particular news issue. Therefore, the scope is created for the researcher to analyze the framing of news bulletins and agenda-setting behavior of news television. In this study, researcher has focused on the three leading Hindi national news channels of India: Aaj Tak, News18India and Zee News.

newlineThis study aims to analyze the news contents of news channels on the basis of different parameters like nature, timeshare and presentation formats. This study has investigated the agenda-setting behavior of news channels i.e., particular news channels give more time to particular news contents. It has found the factors that affect the selection, presentation and dissemination of news content of news channels. This study has also analyzed the framing of prime-time news bulletins with conceptual note of framing theory which is the second level of agenda-setting theory. One more purpose of this study was to assess the audio-video quality of news channels in this competitive situation and whether they maintain the good quality of news content in terms of technicality.
