Financial analysis of Co Operative sugar factories in Beed district of Maharashtra state

Abstract

Maharashtra State is always leading in the co-operative movement in the nation. Co-operative Sugar Industries are introduced to the nation by Maharashtra. Till 31.03.2011, there were 2, 24,306 co-operative institutions in the Maharashtra in which co-operative sugar factories occupied important position. Co-operative institutions play an important role in politics and economic development of Maharashtra. newline There are 08 sugar factories in Beed district of which, one is private and 07 are co-operatives. Beed district is famous for being supplier of sugarcane harvesting labours to sugar factories across Maharashtra state. newline For the present study, 04 sugar factories were selected from the district with the help of purposive sampling method. The selected four co-operative sugar factories located in four different Talukas which were Vaidyanath Sugar Factory from Parali Vaijanath , Gajanan Co-operative Sugar Factory from Beed , Jai Bhavani Co-operative Sugar Factory from Georai and Majalgaon Co-oprative Sugar Factory from Majalgoan . newline The present investigation was under taken for the period of 2006-2007 to 2010-2011. newlineConsidering the importance of the subject from social, political and economical point of view the present investigation was divided into three major parts. newline1.
