Abstract
In this research study, the feasibility and applicability of Electromagnetic (EM) waves
newlinein sea water and fresh water medium through channel modeling was examined. It is
newlinevery challenge-able situation to communicate the EM waves in ocean or sea because
newlineof high total path loss (TL), low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), and high bit error rate
newline(BER). However, in this examination on employment of EM waves in sea and fresh
newlinewater medium, some theoretical observations through mathematically and simulations
newlinetools were performed to meet practical specifications for analyzing the feasibility and
newlineapplicability of EM waves in this high loss environment. In addition, (TL), (SNR) and
newline(BER), the data rate capacity (DRC), velocity of propagation ( ) rf V
newlineparameters were
newlinealso examined to understand applicability of EM wave at frequency range 400MHz-
newline800MHz in sea water and fresh water medium. In this research study, most important
newlinefactor was considered of transmission power. It was examined that transmission
newlinepower also affects the propagation of EM wave in sea water and fresh water medium.
newlineTheoretical analysis of underwater channel medium was examined through
newlinesimulations process to characterize the EM wave communication in pure water and
newlinesea water medium with variation of salinity of water to meet practical specifications.
newlineThe EM wave communication feasibility in pure water and sea water medium was
newlineanalyzed by some arising factors such as salinity, frequency of propagation, electrical
newlineconductivity, attenuation, path distance and path loss.
