Study of anti allergic potential of some medicinal plants of Himachal Pradesh

Abstract

The study investigated the antiallergic potential of plants L. obovata, M. longifolia, G. trichophylla, and M. aculeata and the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant potential of L. obovata, M. longifolia, G. trichophylla, M. aculeata, P. luteoalbum, and O. vulgare. It also evaluated qualitative, quantitative and GC-MS phytochemical analysis. Additionally, an in vitro study assessed antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. In vivo study on albino mice model demonstrated that G. trichophylla showed the highest efficacy in reducing the elevated count of leukocytes and eosinophils by the milk allergen. Thus, the currently investigated plant species exhibiting various properties may find utility as lead plant products to cure allergies, and inflammatory and oxidative stress-related disorders in future. newline
