ABSTRACT
newlineINTRODUCTION
newlineDiabetes is a chronic condition in that Type II diabetes is the most
newlineprevalent, generally affecting adults, diabetes frequently reduces HDL
newline(good) cholesterol levels while raising triglycerides and LDL (bad)
newlinecholesterol levels. Both of these factors raise the likelihood of heart disease
newlineand stroke. The Indian system of traditional medicine, Ayurveda, also uses
newlinecurry leaf as a common treatment. Curry leaves can prevent several diseases,
newlineincluding type II diabetes and heart disease, because they are rich in
newlineantioxidants like beta-carotene ,also rich in fiber and vitamin C.
newlineSTATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
newline A study to assess the effectiveness of curry leaves powder
newlineconsumption on blood glucose and lipid profile among type II diabetic
newlinepatients with mild elevated lipid profile at selected rural areas at Tiruvallur
newlinedistrict
newlineOBJECTIVES:
newline1. To determine the effectiveness of curry leaves powder on reducing
newlineblood glucose and lipid profile among the clients with Type II
newlinediabetes with mild elevated lipid level in the experimental group.
newline2. To compare the posttest level of blood glucose and lipid profile
newlinebetween the experimental and control group
newlineRESEARCH METHODOLOGY:
newlineA Quasi experimental research design was used to assess the
newlineeffectiveness of curry leaves powder among type II diabetes patients with
newlinemild elevated lipid profile. After obtaining permission from the village
newlinepresident , the investigator selected 60 patients with type II diabetes with
newlineelevated lipid profile out of 60 samples, 30 belongs to the experimental
newlinegroup, and 30 belongs to control group. who met the inclusive criteria by
newlineNon-probability purposive sampling techniques The investigator
newlineintroduced and explained the purpose of the study to the participants and
newlineobtains the written informed consent. The nature and the purpose of the
newlinestudy were explained. Self-structured questionnaire method was used to
newlinecollect the demographical data and clinical data , then Pretest of Fasting
newlineblood glucose and Post prandial blood glucose
