Microbial ferrous oxidation and biosorption kinetics study with variable anions and their counter cations

Abstract

The study investigates the kinetics of iron oxidizing consortium dominated by newlineLeptospirillum ferrphilim with variable concentrations of anions Cl F and SO42 newlinepredominant in the biomining environment and biosorption kinetics for the removal of newlinemetal ions Zn2 and Ni2 from bio leachate. The batch study explored the impact of newlinethree anions individually with the countercations Na K and NH4 on the Fe2 newlineoxidation rate of the iron-oxidizing consortium in the optimum conditions of pH newlinetemperature and agitation rate. newline
