Abstract
Glass fibre reinforced polymers (GFRP), is renowned for its exceptional strength and remarkable cost-efficiency. Aluminium wire mesh is a lightweight reinforcing material composed of aluminium wires woven into a mesh design. It is selected for its accessibility, durability, and capacity to enhance the strength of GFRP structures without increasing their weight. The objective of this research is to determine the methodology for producing glass-fibre metal laminates by utilizing aluminium wire mesh and glass fibres. The selection of aluminium was based on its abundant availability, favorable combination of strength, and affordability. The selection of glass fibres was based on their robustness and cost-effectiveness. The objective of this work is to augment the robustness of GFRP constructions without increasing their mass.
newlineIn order to do this, the researchers utilize aluminum wire mesh as reinforcement. Only a small load was applied during the mechanical testing of aluminium wire mesh. Glass fibre and aluminium wire mesh reinforcement only provide mediocre material qualities. Glass fibre reinforced with perforated aluminium laminates has a restricted bonding strength. Damage following a low-velocity collision is not examined or measured using pulse thermography. Manual lay-up techniques are not used by researchers who use glass fibre reinforced with aluminium wire mesh. There was little research done on the interfacial bonding strength of glass fibre bound to aluminium wire mesh. Not as much research has been done on the impacts of glass fibre reinforced with aluminium wire mesh.
