Diagrammatic Cipher Encryption for MANETs

Abstract

iv newlineABSTRACT newlineRecent advancements in wireless technologies have made it feasible newlineto create Mobile Adhoc Networks (MANETs), an infrastructure less newlinenetwork. Being an open-network, MANETs are prone to security threats and newlinehence there is a growing need for less-tedious and low-cost encryption newlinetechniques. The proposed work employs symbol-based encryption named as newlineDiagrammatic Cipher Encryption (DCE) for MANETs, which is capable of newlineencrypting and compressing the data precisely for the MANETs, without newlinerequiring any knowledge on circuit structure and interconnections. newlineEncryption using DCE is carried out by exchanging the characters of the newlinedata by newly pre-defined symbols using TIC-TOC-TOE shape. DCE is a newlinehybrid optimisation and compressive techniques employing data gathering newlinemethods. It is inferred that DCE with the hybrid optimisation technique newlineemploying the Lempel-Ziv-Welch (LZW) compression method produces newlineimproved encryption and decryption times, Packet delivery ratio (PDR), End newlineto End Delay (EED), and Throughput when compared to Elliptical Curve newlineDigital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA) as it is considered as the basic newlineencryption model. newlineKEYWORDS newlineCompressive Data Gathering (CDG), Elliptical Curve Digital Signature newlineAlgorithm (ECDSA), Lempel-Ziv-Welch (LZW) compression Mobile ad newlinehoc networks (MANETs), Encryption and Decryption. newline newline
