Abstract

Nature has been a source of medicines for the treatment of wide newlinespectra of diseases. The plant extracts have a complex mixture of active newlinecomponents that connect an interlink to the pharmaceutical drug newlinedevelopment. The scientific evaluation of the therapeutical efficacy of a newlinetraditionally used medicinal plant Knoxia corymbosa Willd is the main newlinetheme of thisthesis. Thisinvestigation involvesthe extraction, identification, newlineand isolation of various active phytochemicals that lead to the pharmaceutical newlineeffect on the plant species. Various secondary metabolites such as alkaloids, newlineflavonoids, fatty acids, and neutral lipids were extracted using various newlinesolvent extraction methods and chromatographic separation techniques. newlineThere are many research works that point out the different levels of newlinetherapeutical and nutraceutical effects of herbal plants.
