Study on Fluid Flow Through Porous Medium Problems with Heat and Mass Transfer

Abstract

The objective of the present study is to investigate the peristaltic transport of newlinephysiological fluid in the presence of an external magnetic field, thermal radiation, newlinechemical reactions, and heat sources and sinks through the porous medium. newlineIn chapter 1, the basic concepts and the existing literature connected with the newlinepresent study are given. newlineChapter 2 aims at explaining the problem of the three-dimensional Couette flow of newlinedusty fluid through a porous plate in the presence of a transverse electrically conducting newlinemagnetic field. The expressions for velocity distribution and heat transfer coefficient are newlinedetermined. The effect of Hartmann number (M) and Schmidt number (Sc) on the velocity newlinedistribution is analysed with the help of graphs. newlineThe main aim of chapter 3 is to construct a mathematical model to understand the newlinefree convective Couette flow of a dusty fluid through a porous medium with periodic newlinepermeability in the absence of an electrically conducting magnetic field. The solutions are newlineobtained for the primary velocity of the fluid and the pressure gradient. The effect of flow newlineparameters such as the Hartmann number (M), Schmidt number (Sc), Reynolds number newline(Re), and Grashof number (Gr) on the velocity field, skin friction, and friction force has newlinebeen discussed analytically and presented with the help of graphs newline
